About my Life
Pre-College Life
I was born in Shanghai, this biggest city of China, but I spent first seventeen
years of my life in the city of Hangzhou. My home is in a suburben area
north to the city. After finished first three years of the secondary school
in that same place where I lived, I went to No. 2 Middle School for highshool
study and graduated there in Summer 1991.
College and Graduate School
I graduated from physics department of Fudan
University with a BS degree in Summer of 1995.I then went to New York
City to study in the physics department of New
York University as a graduate student in September of 1995. The city
did give me a good feeling about America because there are lots of nice
museums, book stores, resturants and coffee shops. Even those "folk artists"
inside the subway station and train make me feel good beca use those are
at least some kind of arts. Then people told me that the New York city
acutally is the place that most unlike America. Also I am kind of
tired of the city life. So I said, why not move out and try to escapei
from the city? I did, but I don't know what will happen next. I asked my
professor to let me wrok on my Ph.D. thesis in Brookhaven
Naitonal Laboratory in the Long Island, to smell the Atlantic Ocean
everyday. Everything goes fine and I will work on the Photoemission
Microscope that we just bought from Greman.
About New York City
Actually there is not much to say about the crowdy city. Mannattan was
called as a "samll, noisy, crowdy and dirty town". Here are some pictures
of me and my friends in New York City.
